Above all, listen to yourself because you and your happiness are the most important things in the world, even if you forget it sometimes and you are NEVER a failure, a disappointment, or a burden to anyone. Advice for First-Year Students:
Find your balance. College is a new experience that brings many new challenges. You are in a new place, have a new home, and are meeting new people. Take the time to get familiar and enjoy your surroundings, have your door open, both literally and metaphorically. Take in your surroundings, but remember that you have a purpose here at college. Your first job is your academics. It can be easy to get lost in the sea of new adventures college has to offer. Take your time with it and understand that you aren't expected to get it right on your first try. No matter what you're doing, keep learning and keep growing.
