Although the size of this university may initially overwhelm new students, do not be afraid to ask for help from College Advisors, friends, Residence Hall Directors, and even your professors. The campus community is more than willing to be of help to you and in fact they want to help you so whether you are struggling in a course or unsure what to do with yourself as a student, go seek help! I guarantee that you’ll feel much better!

Do not be deterred by the number of people or the size of Stony Brook University, if you embrace it your time here will be a hallmark of your life while also giving you invaluable life experience. Stony Brook it is quite honestly one of the most diverse places you can ever be and thusly it is a melting pot for ideas and people. Embracing this can give you a whole new lease on the world you live in.
